Your stay in Bern

In 1983, Bern became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and can easily be reached by plane, rail or car today. The BERN Airport and direct connections to the high-speed trains TGV and ICE make a true hub out of the city. Thanks to its central location, Bern is ideal for outings and trips throughout Switzerland and is commonly known as the gateway to the Alps. The Bernese are proud of their successful soccer team, the Young Boys, and the ice hockey club SCB. The city also offers a lot of sport activities for everbody. People use the public bikes to get around in town, hike up the local mountain Gurten or enjoy participating in sport events like the «Bern Grand Prix» running event.
